Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

Lubbock, Texas - Thanks to a stellar performance from goaltender Larry Sterling, the Fort Worth Brahmas defeated the Lubbock Cotton Kings 5-1 on Friday night at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas.

Sterling, the Brahmas second-year netminder from Lake Orion, Michigan, stopped 49 of the 50 Cotton Kings shots he faced in the game to backstop Fort Worth to the win. Sterling was especially effective in the first and third periods, when he turned away all 35 of the Lubbock shots sent his way. Only a late second period powerplay goal from Lubbock's Emory Olauson prevented Sterling from picking up his second shutout of the season.

Forward Ty Hennes paced the Brahmas offensive effort in the game, scoring two goals. Bobby Davis, Sheldon Lee, and Jimmy Sokol also found the back of the net for Fort Worth.

Brett Koscieleny took the loss in goal for Lubbock, allowing the five Fort Worth goals on 25 shots.

The road win snaps a five-game losing streak for the Brahmas, and, conversely, halts a four game winning streak for the Cotton Kings.

Fort Worth, now 17-35-8 on the season, will look to win two games in a row on Saturday, March 18, when they face off against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 p.m. at the Ector County Coliseum. The game can be viewed in its entirety on www.chltv.com.
