Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads Hockey Club announced that forward Kyle Bruce has been waived, effective today, from its training camp roster. ECHL teams must have 2007-08 Opening Day Rosters into the League Office by 3:00 pm ET Wednesday, Oct. 17th.

Bruce, a Florida Panthers 8th round (#231 overall) pick in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, began the 2006-07 season in the Iowa Stars training camp, then played in just seven games with the Steelheads before suffering a lower body injury which kept him out the remainder of the regular season. The 24-year-old who stands 6'0" and weighs 200-pounds, made his return to the Steelheads lineup and appeared in his first professional playoff game, a 3-0 win versus Stockton in Game Two of the National Conference Quarter Finals.

The Steelheads will unveil the 2007 Kelly Cup Championship banner at the 2007-08 season home opener on Friday, October 19th against the Victoria Salmon Kings. A variety of Season Ticket Plans including a new Family Flex Plan are now available by calling (208) 383.0080 or visiting the team's website at www.idahosteelheads.com.
