Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Youngstown, Ohio - A hat trick from center Chris Richards helped lead the Youngstown Steelhounds to a 5-2 win over the Fort Worth Brahmas on Wednesday night at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio.
Richards three goal effort paced a strong offensive outing for the Steelhounds. The former Ohio State University standout tallied a goal in each period for Youngstown, and, in the process, raised his season goal total to 21.
Also scoring in the game for Youngstown were left wing Jeff Christian and center Darryl Lloyd. Additionally, Christian assisted on all three of Richards' goals, giving him a total of four points (1G/3A) on the night.
Center Jimmy Sokol and forward Ty Hennes found the back of the net in the loss for Fort Worth.
Youngstown goaltender David St. Germain stopped 20 of the 22 Fort Worth shots sent his way to earn the win. Larry Sterling, Fort Worth's netminder, allowed the five Youngstown goals on 38 shots.
The defeat for the Brahmas drops their record to 17-37-8 on the season. With the win, Youngstown improved their season mark to 22-35-5. Fort Worth is now winless (0-4-2) in six games played against the expansion Steelhounds this year.
The Brahmas will remain in Youngstown and play the Steelhounds two more times this weekend, on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25. Both games are scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. CST and can be viewed in their entirety on chltv.com.
