March 12, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brampton Steelheads News Release

The Steelheads come into Friday's game having won two straight at home. Coming off a big win against the fourth place Ottawa 67's, the Steelheads prepare for another tough test, as they take on Barrie and then Oshawa in a back-to-back set this weekend.

Now even with Peterborough in games played, the Trout trail eighth place by just five points, and the seventh place Belleville Bulls by six. Still chasing one of the two remaining playoff spots, Mississauga can earn some crucial points this weekend.

Mississauga is still searching for their first victory over the Barrie Colts this season, but it's not for lack of effort. In the first meeting of the season, the Steelheads paid a visit to the Barrie Molson Centre. The Trout came out strong, grabbing an early lead with a power play goal. Missisauga's special teams continued to prove effective, as Sam Babintsev added one of his three short-handed goals of the season early in the third frame, but the Trout ultimately took a 5-3 loss.

The last time the Colts were at the Hershey Centre, they took the final by a score of 5-4. The Steelheads fell behind early, and trailed by as many as four goals, but they poured on the offense in the third period.

The Trout answered with three unanswered goals, as part of a four-goal period. They stormed back into the game, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Barrie has lost its last three consecutive games, and has managed just a single point in that same span. They'll host the Owen Sound Attack on Thursday night, before making the trip to Mississauga Friday.

The Steelheads look to continue their recent success at the Hershey Centre. Last Sunday, they potted the first goal of the game, and led the 67's three different times. Thomas Lattavo scored his first OHL goal in the third period, providing the game-winner for the Trout.
