Brampton Steelheads News Release

The Steelheads have a three in three weekend ahead of them, including two games at home. They'll take on the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday for the first time since October.

Kingston has two games in hand on the Trout and sit a point ahead of them in the Eastern Conference. The Fronts are coming off three straight losses, all to Eastern opposition and are 3-6-0-1 in their last ten games.

On the road, Kingston sits four games below .500 with six games decided after regulation. They have lost four of their last five games away from the K-Rock Centre. The Steelheads are 2-0 against Kingston this season, outscoring them 7-3, including one victory in the shootout.

On Saturday, The Trout pay their final visit to TD Place in the third leg of the season series with the 67's. The Steelheads, still searching for their first win against Ottawa, clash with a 67's team that has won five straight.

Liam Herbst was in goal for the 67's in each of their last five wins. He continues to play well as he approaches the NHL draft in June. Herbst was ranked 14th among North American goaltenders in the NHL's midterm central scouting rankings. Ottawa currently sits fourth place in the Eastern Conference, with 65 points in 54 games.

The Trout will wrap up the busy weekend with a Sunday matinee, concluding their season series with the Guelph Storm. The Storm currently sit in fourth in the West with a four-point cushion over the Kitchener Rangers, and trail the London Knights by a single point.

The Guelph Storm, much like the Steelheads, will be playing their third game in as many days come Sunday afternoon. The Storm have won three straight games, but face off against the Erie Otters and Owen Sound Attack before heading to the Hershey Centre.

In the first outing against Guelph, Jake Brennan made 31 saves in his OHL debut, earning the win in his first game with the Steelheads. The game-winner came courtesy of Jimmy Lodge as a result of an incredible individual effort in overtime.

Sunday marks the Steelheads annual Pink at the Rink game, held in support of the Canadian Brest Cancer Foundation, and sponsored by Mississauga's local State Farm Agents.
