Brandon Robinson and Ryan MacInnis each scored a pair of goals leading the Rangers to a 5-1 win over the North Bay Battalion on Thursday night. Rookie Adam Mascherin recorded two assists and goaltender Jake Paterson stopped 26-of-27 shots he faced in the victory.

Team scoring leader Ryan MacInnis opened the scoring for the Rangers late in the first period. Rearguard Frank Hora's point shot was denied by starter Jake Smith, but MacInnis directed the rebound over the goal line for his career -best 17th of the season.

North Bay led shots on goal 11-8 after the opening 20 minutes.

Brandon Robinson put the Rangers ahead 2-0 midway through the second period, notching his team-leading 22nd of the season against his former team. Sophomore Mike Davies set up the play, intercepting a Battalion pass in their own zone and firing it at the net. Robinson jumped on the rebound, recording his first goal against the team that drafted him.

MacInnis added his second of the night six minutes later, lifting Kitchener to a three goal lead. Freshman Adam Mascherin picked up the puck after stepping out of the penalty box and set up the Arizona Coyotes prospect in the slot. MacInnis fired a high one-time shot over Smith's glove, bringing his point total to 50 on the season.

Nick Paul put the Battalion on the board, recording a power play marker with just 26 seconds remaining in the frame. The Ottawa Senators prospect snuck a shut past a screened Jake Paterson, potting his 28th of the year. Waterloo native Kyle Wood and Mike Amadio earned the assists on the play.

North Bay out-shot Kitchener 8-5 in the second period.

Robinson recorded his second goal of the game early in the third period, restoring the Rangers' three-goal cushion. The veteran winger collected a loose puck behind Mascherin, and sailed a shot by Smith, recording his sixth point in his last three games.

Nick Magyar put Kitchener ahead 5-1 with seven minutes left to play, jumping on the man advantage. The Colorado Avalanche prospect picked up the puck in the neutral zone, passed it between the skates of the defenders and backhanded a shot over Smith's pads for his 16th of the season. Mascherin earned his second helper of the game on the play.

The Battalion led shots on goal 9-4 in the third, and finished with a 27-17 overall advantage. Paterson made 26 saves to improve to 10-5-1-0 since joining the Rangers.
