Brampton Steelheads News Release

MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads have completed a trade with the Niagara IceDogs to acquire LW Brice Cooke. The Steelheads exchanged a 2026 second-round pick, a 2023 fourth-round pick, and a 2025 fifth-round pick (SAG) for the Orangeville native.

"We're excited to bring Brice to the Steelheads." said Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager, James Richmond, "He's a big strong fast winger that plays the right way. We are looking forward to seeing him in the blue and white this weekend."

The 2004-born forward was drafted in the second round (33rd overall) by the IceDogs in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. Following the Covid break, he played his first season with the team in 2021-22 and earned 28 points (18G, 10A) in 64 games. The left-winger is still eligible for the 2023 NHL Draft in Nashville. Cooke did not play in last night's matchup between the Steelheads and the IceDogs.

This marks Mississauga's third trade with the IceDogs in the 2022 calendar year, acquiring forward Jake Uberti at the trade deadline in January and picking up Isaac Enright and Ryan Struthers in June. All three players suited up for the Steelheads game last night, with Uberti earning three assists to help the Trout secure the win.

The Steelheads would like to welcome Brice and his family to the organization!
