Steelheads Beat IceDogs 2-1
November 2, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs dropped a 2-1 decision to the Mississauga Steelheads Sunday afternoon in Mississauga.
A goal off an odd-man rush by Marcus Dickerson and a shorthanded tally by Bryson Cianfrone gave the Steelheads a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
IceDogs defenceman Vince Dunn had a number of chances to score in the second period and he finally got his third of the season when he beat Spencer Martin on the power play at 15:56 of the middle frame. The goal was well deserved as the IceDogs were able to control most of the play in the period.
The IceDogs threw everything they had at Spencer Martin, who made 32 saves in the game, in the third period but hitting the post in the dying seconds is as close as they would get to tying the game.
The IceDogs next game is Thursday night at the Meridian Centre when the Erie Otters come to town.
