Brampton Steelheads News Release
Mississauga, ONT - After countless Tweets, Facebook likes and comments, and numerous emails, a name for the Steelheads Mascot has finally been chosen. The Steelheads would like to welcome "Sauga" the Steelhead to the organization!
Fans were asked to send in their best mascot name through the Steelheads Facebook or Twitter pages, or by emailing the Steelheads office. All respondents were then entered into a draw for a chance to win a pair of Season Tickets, allowing them to attend all Steelheads regular season home games.
Sauga will be out a number of community events during the summer and throughout the year so be sure to track him down and get your photo taken with him! Your first chance will be this Sunday as the Steelheads open their home exhibition schedule vs. Peterborough at Port Credit arena at 2:00pm. You can also catch Sauga at Iceland Arena on September 5th as the Steelheads take on the Guelph Storm at 7:00pm, and Tuesday September 11th, at Vic Johnston Arena when the Steelheads take on the Owen Sound Attack at 7:00pm.
Watch history unfold as the Mississauga Steelheads kick off their inaugural season this September at the Hershey Center. Home Opener weekend starts Friday September 21st at 7:30pm against the Kitchener Rangers, and ends Sunday September 23rd with a game at 2:00pm vs. the Barrie Colts.
