
Otters Start Preseason with 3-2 Win against IceDogs

Ancaster, Ont. - Connor McDavid excelled in his OHL preseason debut as he dished out a pair of assists on two Stephen Harper goals as the Erie Otters defeated the Niagara IceDogs, 3-2.
Harper finished off a pinpoint feed from McDavid at 17:14 of the first period to put the Otters in front. He added his second goal at 5:28 of the second period to make it 2-0, Otters.
The IceDogs would tie it up with two goals in less than two minutes, making it 2-2 going into the third.
Jake Evans scored the game-winner 6:20 into the third as he banged in the rebound from a Hayden Hodgson shot.
Devin Williams played the first two periods and made 14 saves, while Keinan Brown made four stops in the third.
The Otters travel to Flamborough to take on the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
