
Steel Secure Point with Three Third Period Goals

The Chicago Steel fell to the Dubuque Fighting Saints 6-5 in overtime at ImOn Arena Friday night...The Steel trailed by three goals after the first period and went on a 4-1 run from the second to the third period to force overtime...The overtime loss ended a five-game winning streak for the Steel, but marked the ninth consecutive game with at least a standings point...The Steel have recorded a point in ten of their last 11 games...The nine-game point streak is the longest active streak in the USHL and second-longest this season behind Fargo's 14-game point streak from Sept. 22 to Nov. 11... Chicago is 6-3-1-2 in overtime games this season...Friday was just the fourth time the Steel secured a point when trailing after two periods (2-16-2-0)...The Steel have played in four games that have reached overtime or shootout in the last nine games...Chicago has allowed the game's first goal in four of their last five games...The Steel have not yet lost a game in regulation in the New Year.
Michigan commit Michael Hage scored twice, his 17th and 18th goals of the season, which moved his goal streak to three games where he has four goals in that span. The second-year forward has eight points in his last four games and ranks T-10th in the USHL in scoring with 39 points.
New Hampshire commit Reid Conn scored his third goal of the season, a shorthanded that came on his birthday. The defenseman surpassed his point total of six from last season with the goal. Conn has seven points this season, and the goal was his first since Chicago's home opener on Sept. 29.
Cornell commit Charlie Major scored his 16th goal of the season in the third period. Major ranks second on the Steel in points with 37 and is tied with Hage in assists with 21. In the last four games, Major has eight points.
Cornell commit Hudson Gorski scored the first goal of his USHL career that tied the game at five late in the third period to force overtime. The rookie defenseman recorded his first career USHL point with an assist on Nov. 3.
Harvard commit Mick Thompson netted an assist that moved his assist streak to four games. Thompson has six assists in that streak and ten points.
Michael Emerson, Boston College commit Michael Hagens, and St. Cloud State commit Thor Byfuglien each recorded an assist. Emerson has scored at least a point in four of his five games since rejoining the Steel.
Colorado College commit Jordan Brisson skated in his 100th USHL game on Friday, all with the Steel.
Nebraska-Omaha commit Louka Cloutier made 34 saves in the overtime loss. The rookie netminder has been between the pipes for each of the Steel's games during their current nine-game point streak.
