Jamestown Jammers - Florida Marlins (3-3) @ State College Spikes - Pittsburgh Pirates (2-4)

Game #7 / Home Game #5 LHP Zack Dodson (0-0, 4.50) vs. RHP Josh Hodges (1-0, 0.00)

-JAMMERS MAKE FIRST 2010 VISIT: The State College Spikes host the Jamestown Jammers tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park in the two teams' first meeting of the season. The Jammers are coming off a series victory at Williamsport, taking two of three from the Crosscutters. Jamestown came up with a 9-4 victory in the final game of the series last night. It is also the first two-game set of the season for either team, a fact of life when they will play each other five times a year at each home park.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes' team record seven errors spelled doom in a 12-3 loss to the Batavia Muckdogs last night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Four of the errors allowed a total of four unearned runs in the sixth inning. In all, seven of the 12 Muckdog runs were unearned. State College did put together a three-run rally in the sixth, but it was not enough. Justin Bencsko went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Chase Lyles and Jairo Marquez notched the other runs batted in for the Spikes. Zach Von Rosenberg took the loss in his home debut to go to 0-2 on the year.

-DODSON STEPS BACK ATOP HILL FOR SPIKES: 19-year-old southpaw Zack Dodson gets the start for State College this evening. Dodson went four innings and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks in the Home Opener against Williamsport on Saturday. The Natalia, TX native is making just his third pro appearance after being drafted in the fourth round by the Pirates in 2009. Dodson is also looking for his first strikeout as member of the Spikes.

-JAMMERS GO WITH HODGES TO START SERIES: The Jammers will respond with right-hander Josh Hodges on the mound. Hodges, a native of New Albany, Mississippi, made one appearance for the Jammers in 2009, earning the win after going four innings and allowing two runs on five hits. The 6'7", 235-pound righty was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Marlins, and also pitched for their affiliate in the Gulf Coast League after being drafted. Hodges earned the win in his first start of 2010, pitching six scoreless innings against Batavia.
