LOWELL, MA - 2B Alexander Nunez (1-5) hit a grand-slam home run in the fourth inning to lead the Connecticut Tigers (3-4) to a 13- 1 win over the Lowell Spinners (3-4) before 4,877 fans at LeLacheur Park on Thursday night. The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Tigers.

The Tigers scored a two runs in the second inning against Lowell RHP Madison Younginer (1-1). C Julio Rodriguez (3-5) led off the inning with a single and moved all the way to third base when SS Brett Anderson (1-4) reached base on an error by Lowell 3B Kolbrin Vitek.

DH Ryan Enos (2-5) grounded into a double play to score Rodriguez from third base for a 1-0 Tigers lead. After LF Matt Mansilla (0- 4) worked a walk, RF Chao-Ting Tang (2-4) hit an RBI single to plate Mansilla and make it 2-0.

Connecticut pushed across two runs in the third inning. CF Jeff Rowland (1-4) led off the inning with a single and stole second base. 2B Nunez grounded out and 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (0-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to right field. Rowland scored to make it 3-0.

1B James Robbins (1-5) reached base on an error and scored on a double by Rodriguez to push the Tigers lead to 4-0.

The Spinners broke through with a run in the third inning. SS Jose Garcia (1-3) hit a one-out double and scored on a single by 3B Kolbrin Vitek (2-4) and make the score 4-1.

The Tigers quickly loaded the bases in the fourth inning. Enos singled and moved to third base on a double by Tang. Rowland worked a walk to load the bases.

Spinners manager Bruce Crabbe pulled Younginer from the game. RHP Charlie Rosario came into the game and hung a fastball to Nunez, who powered a grand slam over the left field wall to make it 8-1.

Connecticut pushed across two more runs in the seventh inning. Rodriguez and Anderson hit back-to-back singles and each advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch. Enos hit an RBI single to right field and Mansilla grounded into a fielder's choice. Rodriguez and Anderson each scored to advance the score to 10-1.

In the eighth inning, the Tigers loaded the bases thanks to two walks and an error. Robbins followed with a two-run single. Connecticut scored a run later in the inning when Rodriguez grounded into a double play.

Sanz pitched five innings and allowed one run on six hits to pick up his second win of the season.

Tiger Tracks: LHP Logan Hoch came into the game in the eighth and threw one pitch, hitting Garcia. He was promptly thrown out of the game. Tigers SS Brett Anderson was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning.
