The ninth inning started when Austin Knight reached base on an error. Then after Pedro Florimon walked, L.J. Hoes hit a two-run double to left centerfield to give the IronBirds the lead back. Michael Flacco then added to the lead when he blooped a single into centerfield to score Tyler Kolodny.
The IronBirds got on the board first in second inning when Omar Casamayor hit an RBI infield single with the bases loaded to give the IronBirds a 1-0 lead.
They would add to their lead in the third inning. With one out Hoes hit his first home run in an IronBirds uniform to make it a 2-0 lead. Then with the bases loaded Austin Goolsby walked to give the IronBirds a 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning the Yankees made it a 3-1 game on an Eduardo Sosa RBI double.
The IronBirds wasted no time answering back. In the top of the fourth inning with two outs David Anderson hit a two-run home run his first of the season and it gave the IronBirds a 5-1 lead.
