-SAWBUCK SERIES MATCHUP TONIGHT: The State College Spikes continue their seven-game, season-ending road trip tonight as they take on the Williamsport Crosscutters at Historic Bowman Field. It will be the second game in a three-game set, beginning the final phase of the 2009 SawBuck Series between the two teams. With their win last night, the Spikes tied the season series, 5-5, and the all-time series, 23-23.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes sent 12 batters to the plate and collected eight hits in a seven-run first inning to set the tone for a 12-6 win over the Crosscutters at Historic Bowman Field. All 12 of the Spikes' runs were scored with two outs, and all seven runs in the first inning were scored after the first two batters of the game grounded out. Elevys Gonzalez collected three hits and set a State College record with two triples in the same game. Pat Irvine and Justin Byler each had three-hit games, and Aaron Baker hit his second home run of the year as part of the Spikes' fast start.

-KLINGER MAKES FIRST '09 SPIKES START: Right-hander Brent Klinger goes to the hill for State College for the first time in the 2009 season. Klinger, the Pirates' 21st-round draft pick in 2008 out of Glendale (AZ) Community College, is in his second stint with the Spikes. The Phoenix native threw 1-2/3 scoreless innings in two Spikes appearances last year.

-'CUTTERS BRING BACK PETTIBONE: Williamsport right-hander Jonathan Pettibone makes his return to a starting role tonight, as he faces State College for the third time this year. After missing time with shoulder fatigue this year, Pettibone allowed a run on two hits over one inning of work against Spikes in State College five nights ago.

-TRIO OF SPIKES EARN YEAR-END HONORS: In a ceremony prior to Sunday's home finale, three State College Spikes were honored with the team's annual year-end awards. Infielder Brock Holt was named the Spikes' team MVP for the 2009 season, while right-hander Kyle McPherson earned the Spikes Pitcher of the Year award, and outfielder David Rubinstein netted the inagural Leadership Award, presented by the Spikes Booster Club.
