-SPIKES START LAST HOMESTAND OF YEAR TONIGHT: The State College Spikes return home to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park tonight to begin the final four-game homestand of the season with the first game of two against the Williamsport Crosscutters. State College and Williamsport have split their first 10 meetings of the year, with the Spikes holding a 4-0 mark at home against the Crosscutters. Williamsport leads the all-time series, 44-38.

-LAST GAME: Dilson Herrera, who joined the State College Spikes just two days ago, broke an eighth-inning tie with his first home run in a State College uniform as the Spikes downed the Jamestown Jammers, 3-2, at Russell Diethrick Park on Saturday night in their final road contest of 2012. Herrera sent a 2-2 pitch from Jamestown reliever Sean Donatello over the left field wall for a solo home run to snap the tie. Clario Perez earned the win and Kyle Haynes his eighth save of the year.

-CREASY ON THE MOUND FOR SPIKES TONIGHT: Right-hander Jason Creasy makes his team-leading 14th and final start of the year this evening for State College. Creasy has faced the Crosscutters three times this year, yielding a toal of six earned run over 12 innings for a 4.50 ERA with eight strikeouts to four walks. The Clayton, NC native looks for his first win as a professional one outing after going just 2/3 of an inning last time out against Auburn.

-BRADY GETS THE BALL FOR 'CUTTERS: Right-hander Kevin Brady is slated to start for the Crosscutters tonight. Brady, the Phillies' 10th-round draft choice out of Clemson this year, started his season with the Gulf Coast League Phillies and earned promotion to Williamsport after two appearances in Florida. The Gaithersburg, MD native faced the Spikes in his second outing as a 'Cutter on July 22, tossing four shutout frames and striking out five.

-HOLT BECOMES 16TH SPIKE TO REACH MAJORS: 2009 State College Spikes Most Valuable Player Brock Holt became the 16th Spike to play in the Major Leagues on Saturday when he drew a walk and scored the tying run in the eighth inning for the Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee. Holt earned promotion from Triple-A Indianapolis earlier in the day when Major League rosters expanded to 40 players. The Stephenville, TX native hit .299 with six home runs and 33 RBI for the Spikes in '09.

-SPIKE MARKS: Tyler Gaffney's 20 times hit by pitch still lead the loop...Samuel Gonzalez is tied for the NYPL lead with 5 sacrifice flies...State College pitchers have allowed just 18 home runs, least in the NYPL...Pitchers Clario Perez (August 30, 20), Kevin Kleis (August 31, 21) and Lance Breedlove (September 1, 22) all celebrated birthdays during this past road trip
