State College Spikes - Pittsburgh Pirates (6-6) @ Jamestown Jammers - Florida Marlins (7-5)

Game #13 / Road Game #7 RHP Brooks Pounders (1-1, 2.00) vs. RHP Saul Gonzalez (0-1, 3.00)

-SPIKES LOOK TO SURPASS .500: The State College Spikes continue their first road trip of the season tonight as they face the Jamestown Jammers in the last of three games at Russell Diethrick Park. The Spikes are now 2-2 against the Jammers this season after last night's win, and 10-12 all-time at Diethrick Park. With a win, State College would move above .500 for the first time this season.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes took advantage of 13 walks, nine hits and two errors to down the Jammers last night at Diethrick Park, 11-7. Chase Lyles hit his second homer of the season, a two-run blast to left field, to open the scoring in the first. After another run in the second, State College used three walks in the third and an RBI triple by Gift Ngoepe to put another four runs on the board in the third and take a 7-0 lead. The Spikes piled on another four runs in the fourth thanks to six straight walks by Jamestown reliever Bobby Holmes to open the inning. Adalberto Santos reached base five times on two hits and three walks. Ngoepe also swiped his league-leading sixth base of the season.

-POUNDERS GETS THE START FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Brooks Pounders looks for another strong effort tonight against the Jammers as he gets the nod to start for State College. Pounders went five innings, a season-long for any Spikes starter, and earned the victory against Jamestown this past Friday. Pounders retired the first 11 batters he faced on his way to victory, allowing a total of two runs on three hits while striking out two. The Temecula, CA native has not walked a batter in 2010.

-JAMESTOWN TO SEND GONZALEZ TO MOUND: Saul Gonzalez makes a spot start for the Jammers tonight, taking the place of Albaro Estevez in the rotation. Gonzalez has been a bullpen mainstay thus far for Jamestown, going 0-1 with a save in three appearances. The right-hander has gone exactly three innings in each of his first three outings, with two of them coming at Diethrick Park. The Chitre, Panama native has struck out six and has not walked a batter in his pair of home appearances.
