Lincoln Stars News Release
Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars have partnered with TAG Ink and Thread to raise money for the Lincoln Police Department's wellness committee, the team announced on Thursday.
"We wanted to make a special effort to reach out and say thank you," Stars corporate sales manager Jordan Yurth said.
The Stars will donate $6.50 of every ticket sold to the game on March 4, 2016 to the Lincoln Police Department. TAG Ink and Thread will donate proceeds from t-shirt sales to the committee.
Funds contributed to the wellness committee will be used to ensure officers are provided necessary resources and incentive to live healthy lifestyles.
"It's really important for us as police officers to be in shape and have a healthy lifestyle," Police Chief Jim Peschong said. "These two fundraisers are going to give us a real good boost on trying to do that."
In addition to donating a portion of their ticket sales, the Stars will feature police officers during the game night promotions against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
The Stars return to the Ice Box on Friday, Jan. 29 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. For tickets and more information log on to lincolnstars.com.
