Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Carson Vance has announced his commitment to play hockey at the University of Wisconsin. The Tempe, Ariz. native will suit up for the Badgers starting next season (2016-17).
Vance, 20, acquired from the Muskegon Lumberjacks in November, has proven to be a reliable member of Dubuque's blue line corps. Over the course of 21 games with the Saints, Vance has added six points.
"It's a great honor and a great opportunity to be a Badger," Vance said. "I'm very excited to continue my career at Wisconsin."
Prior to joining the Fighting Saints, Vance played for the Lumberjacks, the Chicago Steel, the Janesville Jets (NAHL), and the Kenai River Brown Bears (NAHL), amassing almost 200 games of junior hockey experience since 2012.
"Carson is, in my opinion, one of the better skaters in the league," head coach/GM Jason Lammers said. "Wisconsin is very fortunate to get a player of this caliber at this time of the year. He has been a great veteran presence for us and someone we're going to count on as we continue to move forward."
Vance will join former Fighting Saints Seamus Malone and Jason Ford at Wisconsin.
