Stars to Host Three-Game Homestand Starting Tonight
March 4, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Salt Lake City Stars News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will begin a three-game homestand tonight against the Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate). The game tips off at 7 p.m. (MT) at Bruin Arena and will be broadcast on Facebook Live.
The homestand will continue Wednesday, March 6, against the Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) at Bruin Arena at 7 p.m. (MT). The game is presented by TGI Friday's and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The third and final contest of the Stars' three-game homestand will take place on Friday, March 8, against the Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks affiliate) at Bruin Arena at 7 p.m. (MT). The game is "Superhero Night presented by 5 For The Fight" and the first 300 kids in attendance will receive a superhero cape.
5 For The Fight is the charitable cause of Utah Jazz partner Qualtrics, which encourages everyone to give at least $5 to the fight against cancer. Throughout the evening, there will be in-game activations calling attention to Qualtrics' global campaign to raise funds for innovative cancer research.
In addition, NiTOR Performance, a Utah-based protein supplement company, has teamed up with the Stars to spotlight women's empowerment efforts at the game on March 8 in conjunction with International Women's Day. Proceeds will benefit the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake Women's Center. A group of NiTOR representatives will also host women from the Rescue Mission for a lunch earlier in the day with Leslie Hofheins, who will share her journey to earning Strongman Corporation's "World's Strongest Woman" honors.
Entering tonight's game, the Stars own a 21-21 (.500) mark on the season. The roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh and Naz Mitrou-Long, who will continue to split their time between the Jazz and Stars this season. In addition, Utah Jazz players Grayson Allen, Tony Bradley, Raul Neto and Georges Niang have spent time with the Stars on assignment this season.
All Stars home games include inflatables, pop-a-shot, face painters and balloon artists in the Kids Zone, presented by University of Utah Health, as well as appearances by the team's mascot, Buster, and a rotation that includes the Jazz Dancers, Jazz Dunk Team or Jazz Stunt Team.
Tickets for all Stars home games are available at slcstars.com.
