DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars and the Chicago Wolves clashed Tuesday night for the fourth time this season at Wells Fargo Arena. For the third time at home and the sixth overall, the Stars defeated Chicago, winning 6-4 in front of 7,364 fans.
For the first time in their last 12 home games, the Iowa Stars allowed the opposition to score the first goal of the game when Chicago's Billy Tibbetts scored his 13th of the season at 7:20 of the first period. Stars forward Krys Barch tied the game at one when he tipped home a Mario Scalzo shot from the blueline at 13:12. The goal was Barch's third of the season.
AHL All-Star Junior Lessard gave Iowa a 2-1 lead just over two minutes later with his 15th goal of the season. The goal was his 17th point, eighth goal, in his last 15 games. Chicago's Karl Stewart tied the game at two heading into the first intermission.
Chicago jumped out to a 3-2 lead when Pat Dwyer scored just :59 seconds into the second period. Iowa center Yared Hagos tied the game at three when he scored right off the face-off at 11:23. The unassisted goal was Hagos' fifth of the season. Tibbetts scored his second of the game with :54 seconds left in the second to give Chicago the 4-3 lead.
David Oliver evened the score at four when he scored from the left face-off circle of Chicago goalie Michael Garnett. Oliver's goal was the second power-play goal of the game for Iowa. Center Yan Stastny registered Iowa's fifth score of the game midway through the third frame. Hagos picked-up his second point of the game with an assist on the eventual game-winner. Loui Eriksson secured the win with the Stars third power-play goal of the evening. Rookie forward Jamie Johnson earned his third assist of the night on the goal.
Defenseman Mario Scalzo finished the night with two assists.
Iowa Stars goaltender Mike Smith faced 28 shots in the win.

NEXT GAMES: The Iowa Stars travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Admirals on Friday night. Game time is 7:00 PM.
