The Musketeers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead at 3:29 on a shot from forward Sampo Ranta from the right circle on a one-time shot. The Stars answered right back at 4:41 when forward Gustaf Westlund touched in a pass in front of the net coming from Philippe Lapointe to tie the game, 1-1.
