SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars (8-10), the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, completed a double-digit fourth quarter comeback, earning a 127-116 win over the Memphis Hustle (9-10) (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate), Tuesday night at Delta Center.
All Stars Starters scored in double-figures. Utah Jazz two-way guard Jason Preston picked up his second triple-double of the season, making it his second in the past three games. Preston notched a team-high 25 points, to go with 15 rebounds, and 12 assists. Stars guard Isaiah Miller put on a stellar sixth man performance, earning a double-double on 22 points, paired with 11 rebounds. Utah Jazz two-way Johnny Juzang, filled the stat line with 24 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Meanwhile, Romeo Langford scored 23 points on an efficient eight-of-14 from the floor, to go with his seven rebounds, and five assists.
The Stars struggled in the first quarter, shooting just .182 from three, and .429 from the field, as the Hustle tallied 38 points on .714 shooting, opening on a 38-20 lead. In the second, 12 points from Miller helped lead the start of a comeback, as Salt Lake City trimmed the Memphis advantage to 63-57 to enter the break.
The Stars came out of the locker room to take a 8-2 run, tying the game for the first time all night, 65-65. In the fourth quarter, the home team took the lead and did not look back. Preston and Langford combined for 30 of the 40 fourth quarter points, propelling the Stars to the final victory, 127-116.
Hustle guard and former Salt Lake City Star Micahel Devoe, led the visiting Memphis team with 29 points, grabbing four rebounds, and serving six assists. Meanwhile, Hustle forward Matt Hurt added 24 points and seven rebounds, in 33 minutes of action.
The Stars play once more before the All-Star break, hosting the Hustle at the Maverik Center on Thursday, Feb. 15. The contest tips off at 7:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast LIVE on Jazz+ and ESPN+.
