Stars Fall 3-1 To Wolves On The Road

The Chicago Wolves improved their season record to 6-1-0-0 against the Iowa Stars with a 3-1 win Sunday at All State Arena in Rosemont, IL. The loss snapped a three-game road winning streak for the Stars. The Stars continue on the road with the first of three games in three nights at Hamilton on Friday night at 6:30 CST.

The Wolves, who also defeated the Stars by a 3-1 score on Friday in Des Moines, built a 2-0 lead on two power play goals on their first two power play chances of the game. They added a five-on-five goal in the second period to claim a 3-0 edge entering the third period.

The Stars scored their lone goal on a shorthanded rush by Chris Conner that originated in the Stars zone on a blocked shot by Toby Petersen at 7:54 of the third period. The goal was Conner's eighth of the season and his second shorthanded.

The Wolves finished the game with a 34-26 shots advantage while also holding the Stars scoreless on the power play on three chances.
