Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars squeaked past the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 2-1, on Friday night in the Ice Box.

The one-goal win moved the Stars to 9-9-3, pushing them back to .500 for the first time since late October.

Both teams had a power play in the first period but neither was able to capitalize, keeping it 0-0 after 20 minutes. The Stars outshot the Lumberjacks, 10-9, in the first.

Justin Kendall broke the tie at 16:53 of the second period when he darted down the left wing boards and ripped a wrist shot past the left shoulder of Lumberjacks goalie Keith Petruzzelli. The goal marked Kendall's first in the USHL. Chayse Primeau and Luka Maver had the assists.

Lincoln outshot Muskegon, 23-16 after two periods.

The Jacks evened the score early in the third when Andrei Svechnikov muscled into the Stars zone and flicked a pass into the slot for Collin Adams to bury. The 1-1 score held until 14:46 of the period when Henry Bowlby one-timed a pass from Mike Gillespie for his ninth of the season. The go-ahead goal proved to be the game winner.

The Stars went 0/4 on the power play and 2/2 on the penalty kill.

Cayden Primeau finished with 22 saves. The Stars outshot the Lumberjacks 30-23
