The Storm scored its only goal by overloading the right wing, cutting Waterloo's lead to 4-1. At the right point, Jace Foskey bombed a shot top shelf and DiGrande caught a piece of it with 6:30 left.

The 19-year-old DiGrande has two goals over his last three games.

In the opening ten minutes, Rasmussen made eight saves. Ranked by NHL Central Scouting as a "B" prospect (potential 2nd/3rd round NHL Draft pick), Rasmussen has already equaled his games played from last season (16).

In the second frame, Waterloo attempted six shots and three bested Rasmussen.

Ace Cowans scored the first goal at six minutes into the frame, deflecting the puck in at the right slot after a point shot from Hank Sorenson.

The Black Hawks used a pair of power-play goals to carry a three-goal lead into the final frame. Emil Ohrvall and Jake Ryczek factored on both. First, Ohrvall and Ryczek helped Nick Swaney score his team-leading ninth of the year with 6:07 left in the second. Next, with 1:58 remaining, Ryczek fed Orhvall at the post for another power-play tally.

Logan Drevitch played his first Storm game drew a Waterloo penalty against Ben Copeland in the final minute of the second. Acquired from Muskegon on Monday in exchange for Jack McNeely, Drevitch has four goals and nine points in 20 games.
