Tacoma, WA - The Tacoma Stars, by way of the Ontario Fury's loss to the San Diego Sockers have clinched the eighth and final spot in the MASL 2017-18 Ron Newman Cup playoffs. This sets up a best-of-three matchup between the Stars and the Pacific Division leading San Diego Sockers.
Tacoma will host San Diego for their leg of the home and home series on Thursday March 8 with a 7:35 pm kick-off. The series will then shift to San Diego on Saturday March 10.
San Diego swept the Stars during the regular season with a pair of 8-3 wins in San Diego and 4-3 at the Accesso ShoWare Center on December 1, 2017. The final matchup between the two was a 10-3 Sockers win on February 9 in Kent.
The Stars wrap up their regular season Friday March 2 against the Kansas City Comets on Fan Appreciation Night. Kick-off for that match is 7:35 pm and hundreds of prizes will be given out during the game. Legendary Tacoma Star Ralph Black will be on hand for the Ceremonial First Kick to start a night you won't want to miss!
