Stars Chase Storm, Win 4-3

Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars used a three-goal third period to beat the Tri-City Storm, 4-3, and move to 8-8-2 this season on Wednesday in the Ice Box.

Ethen Frank's goal with nearly five minutes left in regulation proved to be the game winner and gave the Stars a 3-2-0 edge in the season series against the Storm.

Lincoln struck first with a goal off the rush at 9:51 of the opening period. Sam Sternschein picked up his first with the Stars after taking a cross-ice feed from Brandon Schultz. The lead held until a Storm power play late in the period when Alex Limoges earned his 10th goal of the season.

The Storm added another on the man advantage in the second period with Adam Goodsir's fourth of the season. Despite being out shot 23-14, Tri-City held onto the 2-1 lead after two periods.

Dylan Woolf started the Stars scoring in the third with a blast from the point, then Mike Gillespie scored his second goal in two games to make it 4-2.

Joseph Campolieto brought the game with a goal on the Storm power play late in the third, but the goal proved to be inconsequential.

Lincoln finished 0/3 on the power play and 2/5 on the penalty kill. The Stars outshot the Storm 40-24.

Cayden Primeau finished with 21 saves for the Stars.
