Cedar Rapids, IA - Cedar Rapids RoughRiders goaltender Zack Larocque has announced his college commitment to the Air Force Academy.

The Arvada, CO native is in his 2nd season with the RoughRiders. Larocque appeared in eight games last season for the Riders with a record of 4-2. Larocque filled in for goaltender Ben Blacker the final weekend of the 2015-2016 season, backstopping the team to a 3-2 win in Waterloo to clinch the teams 3rd Anderson Cup. He followed that up with a 5-0 shutout the next night in Sioux City. Larocque was out for a few weeks with illness early on this season but has appeared in six games thus far.

Larocque was with the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders program in Colorado prior to coming to Cedar Rapids early on last season. "I choose the Air Force Academy because it has a great hockey program with a great coaching staff as well as the terrific education factor," said Larocque. "It will also be nice to be able to go to school back in my home state."

"Very happy for Zack and his family," said RoughRiders Head Coach Mark Carlson. "It is a great honor to attend and to play hockey at the Air Force Academy."
