
Stars Activate J.J. Avila and Jared Wilson-Frame

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today the team has activated two returning rights players, forward J.J. Avila and guard Jared Wilson-Frame. In a related move, the team waived Pedro Bradshaw and J.C. Show.
Avila (6-8, 250, Colorado State) comes to the Stars with 192 games (36 starts) of previous NBA G League experience since 2016-17. The 30-year-old forward has had stops with the Windy City Bulls, Texas Legends and Agua Caliente Clippers owning career G League averages of 7.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 19.6 minutes a game.
Most recently, the McAllen, Texas, native spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with Fuerza Regia of the Mexican LNBP. Avila appeared in 31 games (12 starts) with averages of 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Prior to his time in the G League, Avila spent the 2015-16 season with the Stella Artois Leuven Bears of the Belgium-Scoore! League (BSL).
Avila's rights were acquired by the Stars in a trade with the Agua Caliente Clippers on Oct. 21, 2021.
Wilson-Frame (6-5, 220, Pittsburgh) joins the Stars having played two games in the NBA G League during the 2019-20 season for Raptors 905.
A 25-year-old guard, Wilson-Frame most recently played in the Mexican LNBP with Astros de Jalisco appearing in 33 games (30 starts). The Windsor, Conn., native also played for Limburg United in Belgium in 2019-20.
Wilson-Frame's rights were acquired by Salt Lake City in a trade with Raptors 905 on Oct. 21, 2021.
Both Avila and Wilson-Frame led their LNBP teams to the league's 2021 finals with Avila's Fuerza Regia defeating Wilson-Frame's Astros de Jalisco to be crowned LNBP champions on Nov. 22.
Bradshaw appeared in four games for the Stars this season averaging 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists a game.
Show appeared in two games for the Stars owning averages of seven points and one rebound.
The Stars will host the South Bay Lakers (Los Angeles Lakers affiliate) on Monday, Dec. 6 at Bruin Arena at Salt Lake City Community College in Taylorsville.
