Stampede's Coach K named CBA Coach of the Month

BOISE, ID- March 8, 2004- The Idaho Stampede, the Treasure Valley's professional basketball team, announced today that Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak was named the League Coach of the Month for the month of February and the first week of March.
Idaho Stampede General Manager, John Brunelle, said of Krystkowiak's honor, "We are extremely proud of Larry's coaching success and look forward to his guidance and leadership in helping our team through a successful 2004 CBA playoff run."
Krystkowiak helped pilot the Stampede to an 11-4 record (68.0 quarter- points) for the month, which also included a CBA season-high tying nine-game winning streak during the first half of February. The Stampede was 8-0 at home and 3-4 on the road, as they finished the season in second place with a 34-14 record and 205.5 quarter-points.
Krystkowiak led the Stampede to a franchise record in overall wins and an impressive 21-3 home record during the 2003-04 season. Krystkowiak was also named head coach of the American Team in the 2004 CBA All-Star Classic.
The Stampede will play its first two playoff games at the Idaho Center this Tuesday, March 9 and Wednesday, March 10 against the visiting Gary Steelheads.
