
Krystkowiak earns Coach of the Month honors

Boise, ID (March 8, 2004) â The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Idaho Stampede Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak was named the League Coach of the Month for the month of February and the first week of March. It is the first CBA coaching award for Krystkowiak, who is in his first season as the Stampede headman.
For the month, the University of Montana alum led the Stampede to an 11-4 record and a 4.53 quarter-point average (68.0 total), including a CBA season-high tying nine-game winning streak during the first part of February. Idaho was 8-0 at home and 3-4 on the road as they briefly jumped into first place in the league standings during the week of February 17, before finishing the season in second place with a 34-14 record and 205.5 quarter-points.
On the season, Krystkowiak led the Stampede to a franchise high in overall wins, as well as home wins with a 21-3 record in the Idaho Center. He was also named head coach of the American Team in the 2004 CBA All-Star Classic.
Other coaches receiving consideration for Coach of the Month honors were the Dakota Wizards' Dave Joerger (4.34 quarter-point average, 11-5 record), and the Rockford Lightning's Chris Daleo (4.20 quarter-point average, 11-6 record).
