Calgary Stampeders News Release
(Calgary) - The Calgary Stampeder Football Club will be donating up to 1,500 tickets for the season opener July 1st, 2005 vs Toronto. These tickets will be distributed to relief workers who volunteered their time to help out those in need during the recent floods in Southern Alberta.
"The last few weeks have been extremely hard on many Southern Albertans and it was amazing to see the commitment they displayed in order to limit the amount of property damage, much of which was not their own," stated President Ted Hellard. "The Stampeders hope this small token can give these dedicated relief workers a night to simply relax and enjoy a football game."
The Stampeders are asking organizers of these relief teams from Southern Alberta to contact the football club at (403) 205-8235 or by email at floodrelief@stampeders.com. Once the Stampeders have collected the organizers contact information, we will communicate with them on how to distribute the tickets to the relief workers.
