Ottawa Renegades News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Renegades Football Club will hold a special, one-day $99 season ticket pass sale this Saturday, June 25 throughout the Capital and Outaouais regions in an initiative to make a real connection to the community and allow games to be affordable for all fans, said the president of the team.
Lonie Glieberman announced details of the weekend's event at a news conference Thursday, and also revealed that the team would be opening four sections in total on the north side (from one, initially), in addition to six on the south grandstands of Frank Clair Stadium.
Glieberman told the media gathered at the Silver City Movie Theatre complex in Gloucester, Ont. - one of the three major locations for the upcoming season ticket pass sale Saturday - that he hopes the $99 (plus surcharges) offer in ten different sections of the stadium will ultimately make Lansdowne Park the hot spot in Ottawa this summer.
"We are sticking to our mandate of making Frank Clair Stadium a fun place to be and have a great atmosphere in the park," said Glieberman, while announcing that six south sections (AA, GG, HH, JJ, OO, PP) and four north options (A, B, H and J) will be available for fans to purchase the $99 season ticket pass. "This is the organization's way of offering an opportunity to all of our fans to come out and be a part of each Renegades game this season. This Saturday, June 25, will be an exciting and historic day for this football team and we are excited about what is happening throughout the entire Capital and Outaouais regions with the sale."
Glieberman added that the one-day season ticket pass sale represents a savings of over 40% off game-day ticket prices. Fans coming to the theatres will get a chance to meet Renegades players at certain locations and also members of the Ottawa Renegades Molson Canadian Light Dance Team.
On the day after the first regular season game of the 2005 campaign, the Renegades will throw open the gates for affordable pricing, making it viable for everyone to become a season ticket pass holder of the Ottawa football team. The $99 sale (inclusive of tax, plus surcharge) will only be a one-day offer, and sold at three locations:
Famous Players StarCité theatre in Gatineau Famous Players Coliseum Theatre (3090 Carling Ave in Ottawa) Silver City Movie Theatre complex in Gloucester (2385 City Park Drive, at Ogilvie)
In addition to the sales in the aforementioned locations throughout the region, fans can take advantage of an on-line sale through http:///www.capitaltickets.ca - which will offer the same season ticket pass price in north and south side bleachers for supporters to purchase via the Internet. Major credit cards, Interact and cash will be accepted on-site (no Interac in Gatineau), while Internet buyers can use the usual methods of payment.
The $99 season ticket pass (plus surcharges) will be available in sections throughout the south side upper deck and also in select north side sections at Frank Clair Stadium. The team has announced that the areas in the stands available for the season ticket pass sale at the different movie theatre locations are: AA, GG, HH, JJ, OO, PP on the south side and sections A, B, H and J on the north.
Fans buying on-line can choose only from sections AA and HH on the south side bleachers, as well as A and H on the north grandstands of the stadium.
The Renegades open the 2005 regular season in Edmonton on Friday, June 24 against the Eskimos - a game nationally televised on TSN. The Renegades open the home part of the 2005 regular season schedule on Canada Day when Ottawa hosts the Montreal Alouettes. The July 1st game kicks off at 6 p.m. at Frank Clair Stadium.
