
Stampede to Take Part in Asia Challenge

BOISE, ID, September 1, 2009 - Idaho Stampede guard, Lanny Smith, and athletic trainer, Kevin Taylor were selected to participate in the NBA's 2009 Asia Challenge.
Smith was one of six NBA D-League players from the 2008-09 season to be selected for the Asia Challenge. The remaining roster will be filled with NBA legends Tim Hardaway, Robert Horry, Dominique Wilkins, and Vlade Divac. Former Stampede coach and current Dakota Wizards head coach Rory White and NBA Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will serve as the coaching staff for the team.
The team will play exhibition games in Korea and the Philippines starting September 5 against the KBL All-Stars in Seoul. They will then take on the Etlilans Backslammers in Incheon on September 6. The team closes out the Asia Challenge in the Philippines on September 11 against the PBA All-Stars.
