Bismarck, N.D. (Jan. 17, 2011) - The Idaho Stampede (8-15) defeated the Dakota Wizards (7-18) 103-95 at the Bismarck Civic Center Monday night. Cedric Jackson led the way for the Stampede with 20 points, nine assists and eight rebounds to give the Stampede the sweep in Bismarck.
Seth Tarver led the way for Idaho (8-15) in the first quarter scoring 11 of his 15 points in the quarter and Idaho would lead 28-20 at the end of the first quarter. Dakota (7-18) trailed by as many as 10 points in the second but fought back to tie the game at 35 on a lay-up by Renaldo Major with 6:46 left in the half. Anthony Goods drained a three-pointer at the end of the half to give Dakota a 49-46 lead.
The third quarter would once again haunt the Wizards as they would shoot just 25% from the field and trail 70-66 at the end of the third. Idaho led by as many as six points early in the fourth and Dakota would claw their way back and take an 81-78 lead with 6:54 left in the game. Idaho responded with a 10-1 run that included a big three-point shot by Lance Hurdle for the second night in a row to put the game out of reach for Dakota and give Idaho its sixth win in eight games.
Mike Hall led the way for Dakota (7-18) recording his second double-double in as many nights with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Renaldo Major added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards and Darren Cooper dished out a team high eight assists
Jermareo Davidson recorded his second double-double in as many nights with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Seth Tarver added 15 points and Antoine Walker would finish with 16 points putting four of five Idaho starters in double figures. Lance Hurdle and Willie Jenkins combined for 27 points off the bench compared to just six bench points for Dakota.
Dakota will play host to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the defending NBA Development League Champions, next Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Bismarck Civic Center.
