Stampede Outmatch Wizards For First Win of the Season

BOISE, Idaho, December 8, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede (1-7) won their first game of the season with an 83-80 comeback victory against the Dakota Wizards (1-7) in Qwest Arena Wednesday night.

Luke Babbitt, assigned from the Portland Trail Blazers, led the Stampede with 19 points, along with three other Stampeders who scored in double-digits.

Lance Hurdle recovered a loose ball with 6.6 seconds left to cement the win for the Stampede. Luke Jackson contributed to the last quarter scoring drive with 13 points, 10 in a row to end the game.

With the Stampede down by seven, Antoine Walker made his Stampede debut with 5:20 in the first quarter. The Wizards led by as many as 13 points, but were held to 14 in the final quarter and the Stampede took the lead with 1:17 remaining.

The Wizards' Chris Johnson led his team with 25 points and 13 rebounds, topping three other Wizards who also had more than 10.

Coach Livingston was happy about the team's performance, saying, "We've got to hang our hat on defense, and tonight we did that."
