
Stampede Drop a Close One in Delaware

Newark, Delaware (February 3, 2015) - The Stampede fell short in Delaware tonight, losing 107-112 against the 87ers. Idaho led 107-102 with 1:36 remaining in the game but couldn't put the game away.
Delaware guard DJ Seeley hit a 3-pointer to bring the 87ers within two points in the final minute. After a Stampede turnover, Seeley hit three consecutive free throws to grab a 108-107 lead. Stampede guard Jermaine Taylor missed a tough shot in the paint, giving the 87ers a chance to extend their advantage. Seeley missed a jumper that started a scramble for the loose rebound. Delaware forward Drew Gordon scooped up the loose ball and tossed it to the basket for teammate Kenny Hall to seal the game in the last seconds.
Jerrelle Benimon led Idaho with 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting. Shane Gibson scored 13 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, including 4-for-4 from 3-point range. Jack Cooley posted another double-double, with 18 points and 13 rebounds. The Stampede led for a majority of the game that saw 13 lead changes and 10 ties.
DJ Seeley scored a game high 32 points and added seven assists and seven rebounds to lead Delaware. The 87ers received 54 points from their bench, led by Sean Kilpatrick's 21 points.
Idaho is back in action tomorrow night in Michigan with the first ever game against the Grand Rapids Drive.
