Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, ID (December 20, 2002) â The Idaho Stampede and Crucial.com Humanitarian Bowl have announced that the participants in the bowl game's first ever "Queen's Court" will be introduced during the Stampede's game against Sioux Falls, at the Idaho Center, on Friday, December 20th. The members of the Queen's Court will be seated in Game-Day Suite #2 before being introduced to the public for the first time in an on-court ceremony between the first and second quarters.
"This is the second year we've worked with the H-Bowl to help promote the game," said Stampede General Manager John Brunelle. "We proudly support all sports in the Treasure Valley, and we're pleased to have the Queen's Court making an appearance at a Stampede game in one of our new game-day suites.
The Queen's Court, in its inaugural year, will certainly distinguish what it means to go "Beyond the Game", as its slogan intends. The program offers a unique opportunity for women of Idaho to showcase their talents and commitment to humanitarian causes as volunteer and community ambassadors and to be recognized as bright, young civic leaders. Through a scholarship program, sponsored by the Alvin J. Wolff Management Company, the new tradition will assist six commendable girls in furthering their secular education.
The 2002 Humanitarian Bowl Queen's Court participants are: Carolyn Eanes (Timberline High School), Darcie Harris (Timberline High School), Erin Kincaid (Kimberly High School), Nikita Lang (Homedale High School), Nicole Riggs (Skyview High School), and Brittney Stafford (Eagle High School).
"These winners will enjoy a scholarship and exposure unmatched by any scholarship program in the state," said Megan Bastian, Director of Marketing for the Humanitarian Bowl.
The Stampede and Skyforce are slated for a 7:10 pm tip-off tonight, with doors to the Idaho Center opening at 6 pm.
