Sacramento Republic FC News Release
Earlier this week, Republic FC midfielder Tucker Bone delivered more than 1,000 Welcome Back Kits to Robla students as they returned to the classroom. Robla School District, comprised of 5 elementary schools and a preschool, began their transition to the classroom program on Monday.
The Welcome Back Kit each complete with school supplies, some Republic FC gear, and a letter from President Todd Dunivant - to wish all the students well as they come back to school sites.
In the coming weeks, The Indomitable Club will continue to work with Robla School District and donate soccer equipment to enhance their physical education curriculum safely during the pandemic.
"It's their first time back at school for over a year, we are hoping they are having a great experience back - hopefully, these bags add to that and give the students some gear to cheer us on from home," said Tucker Bone. "Now that I am older and playing for the greater community of Sacramento, it's important to be a positive influence and impact the community in different ways than what I could before."
Robla School District is one of the oldest school districts in the region and faces many challenges in serving its students and families. Inside of the district, there are no social or health services available for families to access.
Republic FC staff, partners, and fans teamed up this previous holiday season to deliver toys, coats, meals, and Raley's gift cards directly to families. The club will continue to work with Robla School District on enrichment programs, including soccer clinics with more details coming soon.
