Funnville - The Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators were washed away in the third inning on Saturday night at The Diamond. The contest has been suspended and will be resumed on Sunday evening beginning at 4:05 p.m. Sunday is now a doubleheader. The suspended game from Saturday will be completed to a full nine inning and the second game will be a seven-inning affair. One ticket is good for both contests.
Fans with tickets for Saturday's game can be redeem them at the Box Office for the final two days of the 2018 season, or for a contest in April of 2019. Sunday in Funnville is Star Wars night with Colossal Fireworks following the game, presented by Virginia Credit Union.
Game one will be resumed with a runner on first base and two outs in the top of the third inning. First pitch of the scoreless slate is at 4:05 p.m.
Prior to the rain, Washington Nationals left-hander Tommy Milone tossed a pair of scoreless innings in his rehab appearance. Richmond righthander Chase Johnson tossed 2.2 scoreless innings before the skies fully opened to suspend the game. Johnson walked Alec Keller with two outs in the third when the tarp was called for.
RHP Nolan Riggs is set to resume the suspended contest for Richmond while Logan Webb (1-1, 2.77) will start game two. Harrisburg will throw RHP Jaron Long in game one and RHP Sterling Sharp (5-3,4.67) in the night cap. Tickets and information can be found at www.squirrelsbaseball.com or by calling 804-359-FUNN.
