Spurs Outlast Magic in Close Matchup

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Austin Spurs 108-96 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
The Spurs got out to an early lead behind a 10-point first quarter from two-way player Devontae Cacok. Lakeland's BJ Johnson (currently third in the league in scoring) scored 17 first-half points on a blistering 8-9 from the field to help bring the game even at 47 going into the break.
Magic two-way player Ignas Brazdeikis had a big third quarter, helping Lakeland extend the lead to five going in the final period. The two teams traded baskets until a late fourth-quarter run by the Spurs propelled Austin to the victory.
Johnson finished with a game-high 29 points on 12-14 shooting. Brazdeikis scored 23 points, six rebounds and three assists. Jon Teske posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and shot 2-3 from behind the arch.
Cacok finished the game with 27 points and 18 rebounds. Joe Wieskamp added 18 points and six rebounds. Damyean Dotson scored 14 points and five assists.
The Lakeland Magic and Austin Spurs face off again on Thursday, December 16 at 7 PM at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
