AUSTIN, TX (January 7, 2008) - The San Antonio Spurs announced today plans to recognize the first ever Spurs Fan Call-Up. Joey Miller, a longtime fan of the Austin Toros, was called up because of his love of the game and his continued and enthusiastic support. Miller has been a season ticket holder since the Toros inaugural season. He was recognized in late December at halftime during the Toros game at the Austin Convention Center. He received a Toros fan pack and two tickets to a Spurs game as a result. Miller will be recognized in San Antonio on Thursday, January 8th when the Spurs host the LA Clippers.

"To me being a fan means you root for your team no matter the record. You do whatever you can to help them win," said Miller. "I try to provide a spark for the Toros and get in the head of the opposing team."

"One of the missions of the NBA D-League is to promote players, coaches, referees and front office personnel to the NBA. We want to reward one of our faithful fans with the same opportunity," said Toros general manager, Dell Demps. "Without our fans' support, which is our most important asset, we would not be as successful. Thanks to his great support, we are going to call-up Joey Miller and use him to help the Spurs get a win."
