OREM, UT Jan. 7, 2009 - Courtney Sims tallied 22 points and 11 rebounds as the Iowa Energy defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 108-103 in the second game of the third day of action at the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase, currently in progress at the McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah.

In a game that featured 20 lead changes and 13 ties, the Energy capitalized on six players scoring in double figures, including Othyus Jeffers' game-high 23 points and Cartier Martin's 21-point effort to finish the seesaw game with a five-point victory.

"I think we pulled out a good victory against a good team," Sims commented after the game. "Everybody played real hard and left it all on the court."

Fort Wayne kept it close throughout, though, taking the lead on an Alex Acker layup with just over six minutes to play before relinquishing it for good. Six Mad Ants scored in double figures, including DeWitt Scott's team-high 20 points. Walker Russell finished with a game-high 10 rebounds to go with five points and four rebounds.

The Energy finishes their Showcase run with a 1-1 record, and an overall 10-3 record to lead the Central Division while Fort Wayne drops to 5-9 on the season after an 0-2 record at the Showcase.
