Springfield Falcons Sign Defenseman Yann Sauve to PTO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have signed defenseman Yann Sauve to a professional tryout contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Sauve, 24, has appeared in four games with the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League this season, recording one goal. He has also skated in 13 contests with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL, tallying four points (2g, 2a), 19 penalty minutes and a +1 rating. The 6-foot-3, 209-pound defenseman has appeared in a career total of 200 AHL games with Manitoba, Chicago, Utica and St. Johns, notching 40 points (8g, 32a) and 175 penalty minutes. The Montreal, Quebec native has also played in eight career National Hockey League contests with the Vancouver Canucks.

Sauve was drafted in the second round, 41st overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
