
Penguins Assign Three Players to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forwards Josh Archibald and Jean-Sebastien Dea and goaltender Eric Hartzell to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today.
Archibald, 22, has recorded two goals, four assists and 11 penalty minutes in 31 games during his rookie season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Last year, Archibald was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA's top college hockey player after ranking third in the nation with 29 goals. He was named the NCHC Player of the Year after leading both the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) in scoring with 43 points (29G-14A). Following the season, Archibald appeared in seven regulation games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, scoring his first pro goal and also adding another tally in two postseason contests.
Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the sixth round (174th overall) in 2011, Archibald collected 58 goals, 36 assists and 94 points in 112 career contests for the University of Nebraska-Omaha .
Dea has skated in 37 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, amassing nine goals, 10 assists and 14 PIM. He currently leads the Penguins with six power play goals and is tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals.
The 20-year-old first-year pro set career highs last season with 49 goals for Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League - fourth most in the league - and ranked second on the team with 75 points. In three seasons with the Huskies, Dea totaled 192 points (111G-81A) over 183 contests.
In two appearances this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Hartzell has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.92 goals against average and a .882 save percentage. The 25-year-old second-year pro has also compiled a record of 10-7-0 for the Nailers, while recording a 2.65 GAA, a .914 save percentage and one shutout.
Hartzell split the 2013-14 season between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling. He went 10-8-1 over 25 games with the Penguins, registering a 2.48 GAA, a .901 save percentage, three shutouts and earning AHL Goaltender of the Month honors for January. In 14 contests for Wheeling, Hartzell posted a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.13 GAA, a .900 save percentage and one shutout.
