Springfield Falcons Release Patrick Cullity from PTO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have released defenseman Patrick Cullity from his professional tryout contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Cullity, 27, appeared in three contests with the Falcons since signing his PTO on Jan. 12, posting four penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman has also skated in 34 games with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL this season, earning 11 points (2g, 9a) to go along with 40 penalty minutes and a +19 rating. Cullity appeared in 51 games with the Falcons during 2011-13 and in a career total of 78 AHL contests, recording 12 points (1g, 11a) and 87 penalty minutes. Cullity is a veteran of 234 ECHL games, racking up 75 points (11g, 64a), 256 penalty minutes and a +35 rating.

The Tewksbury, Massachusetts native skated in 145 games with the University of Vermont prior to his professional career, accumulating 25 points (2g, 23a) and 252 penalty minutes.

The Springfield Falcons host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. Ticket packages are on sale now.
