Amerks Sign Evan Rankin to AHL Contract

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Evan Rankin to an American Hockey League contract.

Rankin, 28, appeared in 18 games this season with Kolner Haie of the DEL (Germany), recording three points (2+1). In 2013-14, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Portage, Michigan, played in 62 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch, collecting 30 points (16+14) and 61 penalty minutes. From 2011-12 to 2012-13, Rankin appeared in 83 games for the Amerks, totaling 60 points (29+31) and 32 penalty minutes.

In 159 career AHL games with Manitoba, Grand Rapids, Syracuse and the Amerks, Rankin has recorded 93 points (47+46) and 104 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 143 career ECHL games with Toledo and played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Notre Dame from 2004 to 2008.
