
Springfield Cardinals Partner with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield on Upcoming School Supply and Book Drives

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - To help Missouri children prepare for the upcoming school year, the Springfield Cardinals are excited to partner with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to hold two charitable drives at Hammons Field this season - the school supply drive on Aug. 14 and a book drive on Aug. 28.
The charitable drives exemplify the Cardinals and Anthem's dedication and commitment to supporting and fostering the importance of education throughout our community.
All fans that donate to the drives may purchase a discounted $1 ticket to the Springfield Cardinals home game taking place that day.
The Cardinals take on the San Antonio Missions at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, the day of the school supply drive, which will benefit the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools. The list of preferred items from the Foundation for Springfield Public Schools includes:
-24-count Crayola crayons
-12-count Crayola washable markers
-Wide ruled composition books
-Wide ruled spiral notebooks
-12-count Crayola colored pencils
-Expo dry erase markers, black
The book drive takes place Tuesday, Aug. 28 when the Cardinals host the Arkansas Travelers at 6:30 p.m. The book drive will benefit the Springfield-Greene County Library.
Both days are also Great Southern Bank $1 Dog Days, meaning fans that participate in the drives have a chance to help their community, catch the game for just $1 and enjoy $1 hot dogs!
To donate to the charitable drives in advance, please bring your item to the Cardinals Front Office at Hammons Field between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Fans are also welcome to bring their donation to the Ticket Office on their way into the ballpark the night of each drive.
