Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
Wade Robinson's single with none out in the 11th inning scored Tommy Bryant from third base as the Shreveport Sports defeated El Paso 3-2 at Fair Grounds Field.
It was the third 11 inning game in the last four played by the Sports. With the win and Coastal Bend losing a doubleheader, the Sports have moved into third place in the South Division of the American Association. Bryant had led off the 11th inning with a triple, his first of the year. Aaron Cunningham pitched four hitless innings in relief to pick up his third win of the season.
The Sports had 13-hits, led by J.P. Schmidt with three hits, including a double. Shreveport and El Paso will meet in the second game of the three-game series Tuesday at 7:05 at Fair Grounds Field with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
